Tools for Your Money Life
We only recommend tools and services that we’ve personally used. Please do your own research and only use a tool if it will get you closer to your goals!
Recommended Tools:
Tracking Your Money
Personal Capital — Use Personal Capital as a free tool to monitor all of your different savings and investment accounts. If you join at this link we both get an Amazon gift card.
WizeFi — Plan, organize, and monitor your finances on a deeper level. Track you journey to financial goals, debt payoff, and reaching your financial freedom number. This is my affiliate link for a 30-day free trial: https://beta.wizefi.com/go/ejyupmz188
Credit Cards
Chase Sapphire Preferred — Currently my go-to credit card. If you want a more premium travel card, look into the Chase Sapphire Reserve, and cross compare the benefits with the Amex Platinum. Click the link to read more and see if it’s a good fit for you. The sign on bonus points change from time to time. Reach out if that link doesn’t work for you, and I can send you a new link.
Favorite Phone Plan
Google Fi — I’ve been using Google Fi for my phone service for 4+ years. Great international coverage (awesome if you travel a lot) and low cost for the value and service you get. Here's a referral code to get a $20 credit when you join Google Fi.
Investing — Brokerage Account
Carbon Collective — They make it easy for you to invest your money in portfolios that are built for performance AND climate action. Divest your retirement funds and other accounts from fossil fuels. You can roll any old 401(k)s into their diversified, low cost portfolios, open IRAs, SEP IRAs, general brokerage accounts, etc.
Full disclosure that I work with the Carbon Collective team, invest in their portfolios, and I may be paid if you sign up for an account (but it costs you absolutely nothing!).
Vanguard — Any low cost brokerage account is ideal (Charles Schwab and Fidelity are great too). Not an affiliate link, though I do have accounts with Vanguard.
Investing — Individual Stocks
Public — Please do your research before investing, especially in individual stocks!! I use Public for my extra/”fun” investment money… basically for speculation and to learn about different companies and industries. Public is similar to Robinhood (commission-free stock investing platform), but has more of a social aspect. The link will get you started with a piece of free stock when you join. Oh, and if you join, let’s be friends—I’m @moneylifementor on Public.
